Today i finally finished a studio version of my mashup

The Mixfreaksparty 2007 on friday 30 march, in Uitgaanscentrum Lunenburg was a big succes.
I (DJ @) played there together with DJ Ben Liebrand, DJ Hysterical (Dennis) and DJ Zwaardski (Harold). There were around 120 guests, this could have been many more, considering that the Mixfreaks community has over 700 members. The people who weren't there missed a great party!

First we had the PartyDinner from 20h until 21.50h, the served food tasted delicious. Then Pieter Joosten opened the party, but before he introduced the DJ's, the winners of the prizes that were made available by Jerry Beke were drawn.

Mastermixer Ben Liebrand kicked off around 21.55h with a great set with lots of neat combi's and acappella's. After about 50 minutes, I came in and we had a "battle" where Ben and I threw in tracks and acappella's in turn (offcourse everything mixed harmonically).
That was great fun! I believe that the audience liked the "battle" part very much too.



After battling with Ben Liebrand for about 20 minutes I started my own set, trying to combine some tracks with key-matched acappella's creating some cool live mashups. Needless to say, everything was mixed Harmonically.
For example: New Order - Blue monday vs Karen Young - Hot Shot, vs Freemasons - Watching. The next mashup I intended to do live was: Chris Lake - Changes vs Kristine W - Feel what you want. Unfortunately it failed because I was distracted by a failing Left-channel and because of that I played the vocal club mix instead of the instrumental mix of Changes. Another nice live mashup I did was The Sunclub - Siesta vs Shannon - Give Me tonight. This combi works out great.
After spinning for about 45 mins, the next DJ, Dj Harold (Zwaardski) came on the DJ booth and we "battled" for about 15 minutes after which Harold continued his own set with great Hi-Energy classics for example Patrick Cowley's Menergy and tracks from Lime. The last set was done by Dennis, DJ Hysterical who also played some great danceclassics. Dennis was the only Dj who played with vinyl during this party. All others were playing CD's only. Therefore there were 2 DJ booths: one had 4 CDJ1000's and the other booth had 2 SL1200's and 1 CDJ1000.

The mashup will be broadcast on saturday 13 january 2007 in Disco Inferno on QFM 98, Fuenaventura and Lanzarote (Canary Islands) !
Dj Sventura will play the new, enhanced version of the mashup, that was made on 11 january.

On thursdaynight (january 11 2007) around 20.45h, my mashup of The Sunclub vs Shannon (in a new not previously released version) was played in De DJ's on WayFM. DJ Harold also had a (not so) short interview with me. We hope to be able to put this interview online soon.

As of today, sunday january 7 2007, my new website, powered by the e107 cms is online for the general public.
In the days before I've worked hard on the layout and the content.

I've worked hard on gathering the playlists of many of my Megamixes and Livesets and publishing them on the site.
